  I’m going to try to say what I have to say in he most human way I possibly can. I’ve been a victim of gay-related hate crimes. Normally, mean comedy doesn’t hurt my feelings but the Ragan Fox gay bashing humor hurts. Each time I hear the joke, I am taken back to two occasions in which guns have been pointed at my head; I am reminded of being punched in the face on a subway as a random man yelled, “Faggot!” When I hear the joke, I think of the bruises and scrapes I accumulated in high school from peers who pegged me as gay years before my first kiss. I can’t control what you think is funny or how you choose to express your comedy, but I can share your words are, to me, much more than words. Your joke cites a history of sucker punches and gun chambers. On a human level (sans persona and theatrical frame) I ask you, at the very least, to consider how hurtful it is to read this comment.

FYI Madge. I’m glad you are back to using shorter file names. Some of those sentence-long file names you’ve had lately made it more difficult to get the file into my LG VX8100 telephone/podcast listening machine. Just thought you’d like to know. Thanx.

  Michael- The only reason you got the shorter file name was becasue the PMN upload wasn’t working. Can you be specific about the problem so I can write a bug report? Is it the URL or just the prefix of the mp3 file that’s the problem?

    Thinks it’s something in the script. For some dumb reason i was screwing with the URL by changing the numbers last week. Changing Yeastradio-5267-05-19-2006 to Yeastradio-5267-05-20-2006 would generate a file named Yeastradio-5267-05-20-2006 but the file itself would stay the same. No idea why or how.

      Actually it was not either of your hosting systems it’s the short-sightedness of LG who makes the VX8100 cell phone. The LG VX9-8100 seems to have a limit to the number of characters it can recognize in a name. Any file with a name too long gets ignored. When you used a really long name I had to manually shorten the name before uploading it to my phone. I’ll see if I can find out what the limit is on the name length incase any of your other listeners do this same geeky think I’m trying.
      
      Either way, if the long name is necessary for the PMN, I can survive. As you know, I can use the exercise.

The http://www.kiesbeter.nl/medicijnkosten/ site doesn’t recognize the registration code for the 100 Mg tablets bij Pfizer, the only 100 Mg tablets I can find are by Pharmachemie Haarlem a well-known local manufacturer of generics.

100 Mg tablets, 120 pcs. comes to 129,67 euro.

  Glaxo’s Zyban isn’t covered by insurance, it costs 80,03 euro for 60 150 Mg tablets. The Generic (imported) costs € 78,56 for 60 tablets. 120 Glaxo (Zyban) tablets cost 154,99 euro, one euro more than the imported generic alternative. So, this seems to be the real expensive one, as the regular daily dose seems to be 2 tablets.

    Farmacies however are able and willing to give you a single refill. Online farmacies do this as a regular practise when you order the first dose, as they want to take your (repeat) business away from the regular farmacy, which is almost guaranted your repeated patronage. A well-known example and the low hanging fruit for the new entrant is the pill. The standard prescription for the pill gets you six months, you could go back to the farmacy to get another six months, or to the doctor who’ll get his money for scribling a few words on a piece of paper, the online folks will ship you enough for a year.
    
    Of course with psycho-farmaceuticals they might be more cautious.
    
    However Dutch MD’s will write their patients a prescription for a longer period if people are going abroad for an extended period of time.
