YR1537 Half a Turd

Madge takes a solo walk and talks about families in political systems, healthcare and infrastructure. Afterwards, she returns home and speaks with Grizelda about food, followed by a chat with Hagatha about the effects of doing poppers in a Cadillac. Trigger warning: doody. The conclusion is a radio play starring Olivia de Havilland called “Hold Back the Dawn.” Beautiful album art by John Werner.

I think Marx & Engel’s point is that the family unit is a reflection of the society in which we live; with the modern ‘nuclear family’ unit a product of the way capitalism needed workers to be organised & socialised. In particular the need to pass on property, etc.

Re the ‘corporate family’ – the most annoying thing i’ve found in my WORK LIFE is having to have drinks with TECH-BROS who employed me, and pretended to give a shit about my feelings before firing me the next week.

Under communism, a person’s sole allegiance should be to the state, which is why family allegiances are undermined.

Synergy and the “Fish Philosophy” was the corporate brain washing when I was in corporate. The whole concept of the work or corporate family is simply to exploit your labor and attention from your real family. Marx’s view of the nuclear family is that it reinforces hierarchies.
On another note, poppers (at least the original medical use for them) were used for heart patients.

I still think you’re the worst but you should really see Welcome to the Dollhouse. It’s one of the all-time best comedies and TOTALLY your type of humor. You’ll love it.
